Who is responsible

What we collect
- Your listing. The handle or URL you submit, the amounts you pay and the dates. This is public by design: it is the board.
- Your email. Passed to us by Stripe with your payment. We use it to send your receipt and to tell you when your listing is passed by someone else.
- Click counts. When a visitor opens an outbound link we increase a counter. To count each person once a day we store a one-way hash of the IP address with a secret salt. We do not keep the address itself and the hash cannot be turned back into one.
- Payment data. Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers.
Why we are allowed to
We process listing and payment data to perform the contract you entered when you paid. We send the "you have been passed" email on the basis of our legitimate interest in telling you that the thing you bought has changed, and every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link.
How long we keep it
Listing data stays public for as long as the listing exists, because a permanent public record is what was bought. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires. Click hashes are deleted after 90 days.
Who else sees it
Stripe for payments, our hosting and database provider, and our email provider. No data is sold, and no advertising network is embedded in the site.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your email address and stop the notifications. Write to hello@themillion.lol. Note that removing a listing from the public board is a separate request, and does not undo the payment.
Cookies
The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
